‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to express about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can now express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the movie, commenting that he cannot recall "one day without joy".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a distinct piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a security hold on the investigation to limit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

In the wake of the deaths, public individuals offered varying comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the detractors recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan labeled the comments as "disturbing" and implied they showed a concerning absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by proposing that an aide should have stepped in when the impulse to speak on the passing was made.
