The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry game that players explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing chaos and mayhem with the same glee, all while telling engaging, socially charged narratives. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two producers whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by featuring a fresh setting and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team always encourages me with their steady confidence and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can evolve from year to year, while always examining the essence of people through this complex and chaotic perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to work with Rob and present our common bold, visionary style to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
