History of Assaults
Since the start of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This latest event echoes other notable incidents, including:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a bomb hidden on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a Ukrainian source previously attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are rarely officially confirmed as a matter of official stance.
The war has witnessed clandestine operations moving into the center of the Russian capital.
The probe into General Sarvarov's death is still active.
