Los Angeles witnessed widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The procession path concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities started prior to the parade, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke plainly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto said. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

In contrast, the team owner received a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
